Hans & ANNIE REIFENBERG

TRUST

Registered UK charity number 1093285

The trust supports financially individuals and organisations, e.g. orphanages and students, predominantly, but not exclusively, in South Asia and predominantly, but not exclusively people from the Himalayan regions, especially Tibetans.

Some projects with which we have been involved have been supported by us from the early 2000s.  Others have been concluded, where, for example they involved the education of an individual who has now moved on, or where they were for on-off relief (e.g. relating to the tsunami in India and Sri Lanka in 2004/5).

We monitor projects carefully and where, for one reason or another, we cannot be sure they are working successfuly, we suspend support.

All of our funds go direct to the projects concerned.  There are no salaries or expenses of any significance.

Examples of support we gave in 2023/2024:

  • Education of a girl from a remote area at a residential School in Gangtok (capital of the region of Sikkim). This is via a Swiss project.
  • Contribution towards the education of a boy from a remote area of SIkkim, to attend a boarding school (part of a project we first supported in 2005)
